"The village full of treasures," is an extraordinary festival, which will transform
Oswiecim’s Cultural Center into a vast workshop of folk art, folklore, crafts and
handicrafts for two days. 23 workshop groups, dozens of local artists and lovers
of folklore from the area of Oswiecim, will lead activities sharing their own
unique knowledge and skills with the festival’s participants.
Regional teams will learn the old folk dances and singing forgotten songs.
Together with rural housewives You will be able to take part in the preparations
for Christmas and Easter. Rural artists will lead workshops in painting, others will
learn various traditional methods of creating ornaments and decoration items.
Under the eye of the master blacksmith, in the smithy arranged next to the buiding
of OCC,you will be able to work as a blacksmith, and in a specially prepared
kitchen, along with regional passionate Cook, You will be able to cook genuine
local dishes. Wickerwork, decorating, tapestry weaving, old folk secrets and many
other activities ...
Proposals have no end, each gives the possibility of contact with the original
knowledge hidden by the old villagers and the skills which cannot be possesed
on any other training or course.
We invite young and old, families, all who wish to spend several hours working with local artists during the festival of the proposed activities.
The main objective, which guided us in the efforts for the organization of the festival is to promote one of the greatest treasures of our country - people, their culture, skills, passion. We want to give them the opportunity to share
their knowledge, the possibility of communication
and dissemination of folk culture in our region.
